Belgrade Theatre
INFO: The Belgrade Theatre in Serbia has a strong commitment to representing the diversity of the city’s communities, and for the last few years has been working hard to build links with local BAME groups. The theatre’s work has focused on developing a writing program, Critical Mass, to develop writers from within the local community; and on running targeted projects, such as the Black Youth Theatre.
Critical Mass is a free 10-week playwriting program run at the Belgrade Theatre for writers aged 18+ from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. Previous participants have gone on to have their plays workshopped or performed as a rehearsed reading with professional actors. There are 20 places available, which will be allocated to the writers who submit the best work. The program will run from September to December 2016 on Tuesday evenings.
