The Yale Drama Series
INFO: The Yale Drama Series is seeking submissions for its 2018 playwriting competition. The winning play will be selected by the series' current judge, Ayad Akhtar.
AWARD: $10,000, publication of his/her manuscript by Yale University Press, and a staged reading at Lincoln Center's Claire Tow Theater. The prize and publication are contingent on the playwright's agreeing to the terms of the publishing agreement.

BLUE INK PLAYWRITING AWARD
American Blues Theatre
INFO: American Blues Theatre is seeking submissions for its 2018 Blue Ink Playwriting Award. The winning play will be selected by Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and the Ensemble.
PRIZE: The playwright receives a monetary prize of $1,000 and a developmental workshop or staged reading at American Blues Theater in Chicago. Cash prizes are awarded for runners up, finalists, and semi-finalists too.

Public Theater
INFO: The Emerging Writers Group is currently accepting applications. Playwrights participating in the Emerging Writers group will:
- Participate in a biweekly writers group led by The Public’s New Work Department
- Receive at least one reading at The Public in the Emerging Writers Group Spotlight Series Reading Series
- Participate in master classes led by established playwrights
- Observe rehearsals for productions at The Public
- Receive an additional stipend for theater tickets to productions at other theaters
- Receive complimentary tickets to Public Theater shows, invited dress rehearsals and other special events
- Receive artistic support and professional development guidance from the literary department and artistic staff

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The Classical Theatre of Harlem
INFO: Playwrights submit 10-12 pages of a new work in the early stages of development. Actors are cast on the spot and perform a cold reading, followed by a moderated audience feedback session. In addition to serving the development of new work, these readings give audiences a sneak peek into how new plays are created.
